Goooood Moorniiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnggggg Sportsssssss Fansssssssssssssss!!!!

Welcome to another edition of Sports chat, brought to you by Mr Fings Fungus pies and Little Miss Crumpets Exotic Delights.
Last night saw not one but two new teams enter the bloodbowl league, eager for glory and a well earned death, they didn't dissappoint!
Newly reformed after a break from the cicuit the orc team and perennial favourites of some bloke in the corner the Black Def Skwad roared into action against the brand new rookie Skaven of the Rattusberg Renegades, the crowd were eager to watch new blood and 25k of them crammed into the arena.
The Renegades took the Kick off at the start of a very avergae half, quickly scoring the opening touchdown and handily dismembering the Skwads Goblin on the way, we'd say he'd be missed but we didn't even know his name! In return the Skwads catcher plucked the ball from the air at the kick off and the eam rolled down the pitch, the Renegades swarmed around the cage trying to slow it down and pick off the stragglers, the plan seemed to work to a point as a Linemean joined the Goblin in the injury box with what looks like will be a Niggling Injury. A bit of shortsitedness and a rush of blood soon changed things though, when one of the blitzers decided to man mark the ball carrier, oblivious to the Black Orc next to him he didn't see the blow that ended his carreer and life. Two more rats were handily knocked out and another removed for the remainder of the game before a neat hand-off saw one of the skwads blitzers score. 1-1 at half time.
The second half kick off was a thing of beauty by the rats as they punted it to the back corner of the field, just out of reach of the nearest orcs, who proceeded to flatten the front line of linerats. They then man marked the ball and watched as the downfield players failed to make any real gaps in the Renegades defence with a bit of pushing. the renegades responded with what they do best, running. A quick take down saw a gap emerge, through which the gutter runners and a few linemen sped through, threatening the ball. Unphased the Skwads Thrower swept up the ball and sent it hurtling down field to a blitzer who had pushed himself clear, but No, Interception!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the sneaky Gutter runners snatched the spinning ball from the air and grinned as a few team mates swept passed him and gave the Skwads thrower a ticket to the injury box, where he'll be spending the next game as well, a quick pass to one of the other unners saw the Renegades go up 2-1.
Eager for revenge one of the Skwads Black orcs opened up the batting on a line rat from the kick off, unfortunately he tripped as he swung and landed on the poor rat stunning the renegade, but impaling himself on the helmet spike which promptly killed him. A big hole in the line and a ball loose in the back field wasn't going to be ignored and once again the renegades swarmed through the hole. Unable to cope with the pressure a third score was conceeded by the skwad though another renegade was given the rest of the game off.
Once more the orcs received the ball ad despite a bit of early pressure a Blitzer skipped away from his marker swept up the ball and sent it downfield, slightly off target the ball landed and then bounced to the feet of the awaitng receiver. The renegades deciding scoring was the best way of not being hurt sent a runner deep downfield and then swarmed around, but just out of reach of the Skwads players, a cheeky blitz on the ball guarding Blitzer not only rmoved him from the game but seriously reduced his blocking capability as well, the ball was ten swept up and sent spining downfield to the awaiting runner, who despite the attentions a last minute marker stepped away and into the touchdown for the fina score of the game. 4-1 to the Renegades.

What a crazy, crazy game! the first half was a bit average for both teams with a 1-1 score and a bunch of failed rolls, prob more so for the rats as I couldn't pass a dodge on the first attempt and rolled a uncany amount of defender downs.
At the start of the second half, I had removed two of daves team from the game (Killing the goblin), but I had also lost a linemean and the Blitzer (Who was dead) and had two linemen knocked out. The way it was going Dave was going to finish knocking me around and score at his leasure. the turning point came with the interception and the removal of daves Thrower with a serious injury and the recovery of my KO's. From this point on the game turned, especially afer the next kick off and the Blck orc dieing from the both down result on his block.
the lack of playes on the field allowed me to use the spaces to run around at will and to be honest I was lucky with my casualties, three linemen graced the casualty box but all would return the next game, the sore point being the dead Blitzer. This was my fault as I wanted to mark the ball carrier, thinking the Orc behind was a Blitzer, a 1 dice block I could risk. that orc was actually a Black orc who promptly ripped his head off.
Daves casualties were awful, he lost his Goblin and a Black orc, his Thrower has a serious injury(cant remember what), a Blitzer suffered -1ST (he was also the one player to skill up), while the lineman would be ok for next game.
The after game rolls carried on being crazy, with four of my player gaining skills, three of which were double. These are yet to be decided on but the possibilities of mutations are very high! I gained enough winnings to replace my Blitzer, along with cash i had in the bank, while dave could replace his Goblin.

all in all a great but rather weird game. Neither of us played a hitty game, I ran as much as possible and scored when i could, dave caged up and moved, hitting what was in reach. It just seems our dice were on steroids for armour breaking as dave usually rolled 10-12 for mine and I pretty mutch matched him.
Final score was 4-1 and 5-4 cas
For now I shall be a proud and mentally impaired player who apparently shares the same intelligence level of that of a chimp. Now if you would excuse me I have pressing matters to attend to, I have found a stick and I am going to poke a banana.

Aye, 'twas a good 'un! I really though I had Toby on the rocks at the start of the second half, but Nuffle had decreed otherwise, and my luck turned to custard...I'm still bemused by the Interception rule, that you role for the intercept before the ball is thrown...never mind. My thrower was only taken out for the rest of the game, thankfully!

My orcs may get retired early, as my current team rating is 84, and I'll have three journeymen for the next match. It will take a long time to recover the loses (I'll need 210,000 to replace the casualties), and I'm currently left with 2 Blitzers, one Black Orc, a Thrower, 3 Lineman and a Gobbo...

Having taken a ganders at the rules I can see the reason behind it... The interception and pass are almost separate events. You roll for an interception, if that fails then you roll to see if the pass itself was successful (very hard to word)

I think if the rules had a check for 'fumble' roll in the interception phase it would make sense!

Welcome Back Sports Fans!

Your reading your not quite 30 second update!

The Renegades wowed the crowds again monday night with a spectacle of sheer awsomeness against the fancied humans of Marienburg United. The underdog Rats kicked off and thwarted the humans drive down the flank to the endzone with some well placed bodies, a blitz on the carrier freed the ball for one of the sneeky gutter runners to sweep it up and run in for the touchdown!
Receiving once more United headed straight down the middle only to be surrounded by a mass of furry bodies, unconcerned their star thrower skipped away from the scrum and looked downfield for a franticly waving Blitzer with a clear run to the end zone, cocking back his arm he pictured the throw and FUMBLE!
A mad dash of bodies see's a mutant Gutter Runner with a Big Hand sweep up the ball and race down field, only to be stripped by a last ditch tackle, eager to score the rat attempte to dodge to the ball and finish his run, but as he waved to the crowd he tripped over his own tail. 1-0 at half time.
Second half starts and its 2-0 before half the fans are back in there seats, including the commentators!
A consolation touchdown looks like its on the cards but the drive is thwarted by a mass of sprinting rat bodies, the ball bounces from inept human and rat player all incapable of catching more than a cold. It comes to rest at the feet of our earlier mutant friend who once again screwed it up and pushed the ball around on the floor. A bit of pushing from humans failed to achieve anything until Big hand gets up off the floor, dodges to the ball, scoops it up and flings it downfield to a open linerat, who promptly runs in for the score!

3-0 Renegades!

This game was crazy, the crowd broke more armour than both teams together with only one casualty and two knockouts scored. Both teams agility dice were awful, especially considering ag4 players with built in re-rolls, though saying that I used 1 team re-roll the entire game, that was mainly cos if I failed something I had a skill re-roll and promptly failed that too!

Still it was fun and Dave was a pleasure to play as always, one of my linemen levelled up and it's likely he'll get Block.

So what kind of TR are you at now then? Sounds like your big handed runner is going to be a rising star for you.
