Sir Gobbolots Crusade!!! (Whoops army)

Work has started on more background material for the army which will add a bit more flavour and character to the force.
Painting should start on the army tonight or tomorrow and I'll try and get some pictures up when possible.

I think the rock lobber is probably favourite to be removed from the list, which leaves me wth a big 70pt hole in my army, now thats 17 more Goblins to expand the 25man units to 30 or a chariot (not really wanted as it's too powerful) or 5 more Wolf riders.
The extra goblins in the units would be the easiest option and doesn't add anymore strength to the army, which is a bonus. The fourth unit of wolf riders could also be useful, to get in the way and take one for the team!
For now I shall be a proud and mentally impaired player who apparently shares the same intelligence level of that of a chimp. Now if you would excuse me I have pressing matters to attend to, I have found a stick and I am going to poke a banana.

It's a shame their isn't the money, models ro time to model the whole army as a Crusader force like in WAB.
With armoured knights, crossbowmen etc would of looked cool.

Almost remind me of the game Flintlock

Here's a couple of photo's of the first 3 painted crusaderz:

Once more the photo's aren't great, nor's the paint job, but I think they're pretty cool and a whole army of these bad boys will certainly stand out!

A couple more pics, this time with the flash on, which has done something....not sure for good or bad though

I like it. It might be a tad better if you used a watered down black wash on it. I think it will look good as an overall army as well.

They look better in the flesh, so to speak. The crappy camera on my phone kills any detail and blurrs the shading or what there is of it anyway!
The white isn't that clean on the models and you can see the brown/bleached bone in the recesses. Overall I'm happy and as an army they should look cool and hopefully make people laugh, or at least look twice :D

After speaking to Scott I'm on the lookout for a large Giant sized figure of a Knight or Crusader. This will be in place of my current Giant, though only if I can find a suitable model. I thought something like this would fit the theme of the army better and give it another bit of character.

If I cant find anything and have time I may attempt to convert the existing model.

Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! Convert! .....

Give in, you know you want to.

Perhaps you could ask some of the 40k lads for a few orkie spares or use a converted ork Dreadnaught.

I am tempted, though painting the Goblins are the priority. If I get them done in plenty of time, then the conversion will go ahead.

Here's my re-jigged list. I've removed the Rock Lobber and used the points on bulking up the 25 man goblins to 30 strong and giving two of the wolf rider units bows. If I have enough models I'm toying with the idea of giving one of the units bows instead of shields, same points but a bit of fun :D

Sir Gobbolot
Big Boss, LA, Sh, Shaga's Screaming Sword - 89
Squire Biggusflaguss
Big Boss, bsb, la, Nogs Banner of Butchery - 87
Squire Grabbahag
Big Boss, la, sh, Tricksy Trinket, Martogs Best Basha - 79
Giant - 205
4 Bolt Throwers - 140
5 wolf riders, la, sp, bow - 70
5 wolf riders, la, sp, bow - 70
5 wolf riders, la, sp - 65
29 Goblins, la, sh, fc - 136
29 Goblins, la, sh, fc - 136
30 Goblins, la, sh, fc - 140
30 Goblins, la, sh, fc - 140
30 Goblins, la, sh, fc - 140

Oh and the Giants conversion has been planned out and will involve a fair bit of work, so I'll have to think about whether to go ahead with it or not. Painting schedule will of couse affect it too.
