Baron Egrus Powderpuff is the second son of wealthy noblemen of Vulgaria, A small province within the Grand province of Reikland. The land rich in minerals and farming has allowed the Powderpuff family to prosper, not as much as their Marienburg neighbours but still considerable. The Powder puffs have gained their wealth in only recent times as their grandfather had gained the rights to their newly created province by helping the Elector Count of Reikland with a border dispute with Bretonnia as well as assisting him in regular patrols against Orcs and Beastmen lurking in the Reikwald Forest and Grey Mountains.
Living in the shadow of his older brother, a much loved hero within the Imperial Army during the wars against Chaos and! Crusade to the Land of the dead. Egrus was never a keen soldier much to his father’s dislike, but he excelled in his studies at Altdorf especially in mathematics and science and he could normally be found in his father’s castle when he had leave from school tinkering in his room and reading other’s inventions in the great books of engineering he borrowed from Altdorf’s Engineering College.
Although none of this was to prove useful for him. He never created anything that worked. He still loved mechanical things and especially enjoyed ones he could play with, recently buying for himself one of the new multiple rocket projectile cannon developed by young engineers at Nuln based on scrolls from distant Cathay and the Dwarf Organ gun. Although trilled with all the mechanical whizzes around him he was still overcome with his own failures as an engineer and spent many years after his disappointing experiments helping to run his father’s estate while his brother was away in Araby. All the while forgetting his studies and becoming more of a burden to his father with his increasing laziness and gluttony.
Destined for servitude to his father and destitute under his loathsome brother the future for Ergus was not golden especially for a nobleman but as fate had it was at this dilemma that the Great Chaos Storm hit the Old World.
The storm flattened mountains, destroyed cities, turned rivers to porridge and turned people mad to name a few of its strange and chaotic affects.
Vulgaria did not escape its major city Bruntwursteim was firstly showered in thick, dark brown rain resembling badly made gravy, secondly great shinny forked lightning bolts destroyed complete buildings at random and finally after these foul chaotic afflictions had run their course the once colourful and prosperous land had been turned into a muddy, marbled mess with charred ruins dotting the landscape.
Luckily for our Hero he had been in the deep cellars of the castle picking at the castle’s food stores and survived. His father in his elder years had been struck by a huge raindrop that has consumed him. With no sign of his brother this meant that Ergus was ruler!
With the World now in chaos, order gone, now was the chance for Vulgaria to expand and become a bigger part of the Empire. Well this was the logical step to you and me but not Ergus, instead he continued as nothing had happened leaving affairs of state to run themselves. One night after what was left of the food stores in his kingdom had been eating, Ergus sat down to eat his evening meal only to discover all the food in the kingdom has gone and that there was no way of replenishing them in his own kingdom with Vulgaria covered in impenetrable mud.
Enraged that he couldn’t eat anymore he decided to raised the army for an invasion to look for farmland, fresh water and livestock for him to fill his stores and his face with in nearby lands
Sword of Training- this item counts as the sword of Sigismund, it was created by the engineers of Nuln to help would be warriors to train for battle. It contained shards of wyrmstone, cogs and a few small pistons. Although to most this sword is a marvel to some of the Engineering world it is a meagre trinket- tool for most in dealing with jobs in life. Although not fully a sword, it has a blade to recreate some of the affects the trainee would feel during combat.
Eye Glass of Vision- this began life as a simple glass eye piece but the engineer Mad McLeod kept tinkering with it to improve its sight and range, one experiment went horribly wrong though. After inserting a shard of warp stone and then adding a small dwarf rune he managed to “find” it caught fire and burnt itself onto his face. He couldn’t remove it but he found whatever thought’s he had whilst starring at someone for a long period of time that the eye piece would unless a bolt of magic to that affect. Causing him to commit some serious crimes as anyone else would. However this meant he was a wanted man and so during the distraction of the Chaos Storm he fled Nuln and ended up joining with Ergus because he could be harboured as Ergus didn’t have a clue who he was and he had an army.
