Mordor army for IanC

Ji Ian,
I have writen a 750pt army to go up against Doug next Monday, it has no Magic (which is a strength of Mordor) but it will show the game for you.

9 Mordor Orcs with double handed weapons(+1 to hit, -1 fight value)
Lead by Gothmog

5 Morannon Orcs with Shields (Def 7)

3 Wargs with Shields (prowler +1 to hit in flank or rear)
Captain

3 Black Guard of Baradur (Def7 and berserk)
Captain

19 formations, 8 might points.

I think you'll find it's 4 formations and 20 companies!

Thanks for this, am calling in on Scotty today to pick up the Rohan army, so may try to put an army together from that.

Doug - any chance of a heads up as to what your army looks like?

If you want I can help you right an army list on Monday for your Rohan. Scotty had quite a lot of good stuff so you should have a good choice.

What are your initial thoughts on WotR then?

#1 - 4 companies of Dwarf Warriors - Hornblower

#2 - 4 companies of Dwarf Archers - Captain - Hornblower

#3 - 4 companies of Khazad Guard - Captain - Hornblower

So no psycho killer dwarfs!

So far WOTR looks ok, fairly straight forward so should be ok for me

Called in on Scotty tonight and picked up his Rohan force.
Thoughts so far are:

#1 4 Companies Erkenbrand Riders (legndary formation inc erkenbrand)
#2 4 companies Oathsworn Bowmen
#3 4 companies of Riders of Rohan Eored with Knight captain and standard
#4 2 Companies Kings Guard

have to wait and see how they do (and if I can get enough bowmen on bases by then)

Any advice / ideas welcome

Companies Kings Guard, are these guys mounted? Also 2 is quite small for a combat unit. However Doug has a fairly small force as well so you might be ok.

Thanks for the pointer on unit size.
the kings guard are the elite Rohan infantry and come with Gamling and Hama, 2 heros.
They can be mounted or foot at the same cost so may wait and decide over the weekend - depends how I get on basing / painting etc...

Theoden - Epic Hero - 125 points
1 Formation of Oathsworn Bowmen - 5 companies with Captain - 150 points
1 Formation of Riders of Rohan Eored - 4 companies - 120 points
1 Formation of Erkenbrands Riders (comes with Erkenbrand and Banner) - 6 companies - 355 points
